How we imagine life to be isn’t how it is. The toughest struggles can be against our own imagination and expectations. So, let’s get closer to how life actually is, and spend our time and energy wrestling with that (lovingly and kindly) and less time struggling.

  1. Yes, he probably is right. I wonder if we might be able to refine the art of living such that wrestling looks and feels like dancing. We might as well enjoy each move.

  2. Me too! I felt for very long that my dancing wasn’t that good.
Then, I’ve taken to heart the suggestions to dance as if nobody were watching, to live as if nobody were judging (including myself), and to be open to things as they are. Nowadays, the wrestling is more with my own mind and its habits and tendencies, and the dancing is more with my joy and with others’.
