One regret, dear world,
That I am determined not to have
When I am lying on my deathbed
Is that
I did not kiss you enough.
– Hafiz
Have you noticed how many people around you are saying they love you? Oh, okay, maybe they don’t always use those exact words. Yes, maybe they could be a little clearer.
Try noticing the many interesting ways people do this, with a gesture, a look, a word or two, or simply just being.
Isn’t it wonderful?
Yes, it is. And I’ve found myself actually saying it and writing it more often. Some people react interestingly, and I just smile. It’s odd that something like love is filtered through past experiences and beliefs about other people, the self, and life in general. Acts of compassion and kindness are loving. We are love.
