Do we live in paradise or Hell?
Awhile back, I heard a PBS radio interview with a long-time doorman at the Plaza Hotel in New York. It was with Ed Trinka and reported on Story Corps.
He quoted a motto of his Dad’s that he lived by, and it sounds good to me.
“Be such a man,
Live such a life,
That if everybody lived a life like yours,
This would be God’s Paradise.”
It sounds like a great way to change the world, by changing the way we live. It’s not about right words or right creed or right belief, but about right conduct and right action. Not about orthodoxy but about orthopraxy. What we do is more effective than what we say we do or say we will do.
Not a bad aspiration…
