Are Buddhists everywhere?
Are Big Head Todd and the Monsters Buddhists?
Just heard these lyrics again; this time more clearly.
Turn around for something better.
Children give up, don’t you ever.
Remember that’s the devil’s clever. Brother John, where are you, how are you sleeping?
Brother John, where are you, how are you sleeping?
Take the light into your home
Cast a candle on your dome
Mastery is coming home soon.
Brother John, how are you, why are you sleeping?
Brother John, how are you, why are you sleeping?
May your awakening be clear.
Heaven could be anyplace, why not here?
Why not here?
Heaven could be anyplace, why not here?
Brother John, why are you, where are you sleeping?
Brother John, how are you, where are you sleeping?

I found a partial explanation on the official bigheadtood webpage: http://www.bigheadtodd.com/connect/faq.shtml
Meaning of the song “Brother John”?
So we asked Todd what his lyrics to Brother John were about and this is the response we received “Brother John follows the pattern of the famous folk song but there is an added moral in the bridge “May your awakening be near, Heaven could be any place, why not here””.
the song was writen about a guy named john mcCluskey the band went to college with .. he was one of the best high school teachers around for me… and the fact that there was a song written about him made him even more influantal in my life! rob from the band came to our high school at one time and we asked him the same question and he replied you would have to ask todd the connection between the man and the song !! so you find that out or find john you let me know…………..
